July 4, 1998
We had family, friends, and
supporters meet us at the airport from 8am until 10am.. It was really a wonderful sendoff
and gave us the emotional boost that we needed right before we departed. We left Lebanon
and headed toward Charleston, WV for fuel. Due to weather, we had to divert to Huntington,
WV and then to Dunkirk, New York. At 7:30pm, we finally made it to Glens Falls, New York
and checked into the Queensbury Hotel. Tired, WET,(running around in the rain after dark
looking for tie down ropes for Mary Beth), and hungry... Nikki was helping me with this
update but I just looked over at her bed and saw her mouth hanging open... She's no help
tonight.. Tomorrow, we will meet David Diamonds 3rd grade class from Lake Luzerne, New
York. They will give us Little Buddy (stuffed bear) so that she can go on the flight with
us.. Then we go on to Bangor, Maine for the ferry tanks... Thanks to everyone who came out
to the airport and supported us today...
